This is PlainHospital's public record of verified data corrections and material methodology changes. Entries describe what changed and do not alter the underlying government records.
August 11, 2026: restored the FDA MAUDE refresh path
We repaired the existing MAUDE fetch path so its device and manufacturer data can be refreshed into the audited storage location. The public methodology now describes the data honestly as a periodic snapshot rather than a live mirror of the FDA feed.
August 9, 2026: clarified hospital rating denominators
State and homepage averages now state how many hospitals were rated out of the total listed. This prevents an average that omits unrated hospitals from being read as though it represented every hospital in the count.
